Your coverage can start as soon as January 1, 2015
If you need health insurance, you can sign up for an affordable health plan that meets your needs and fits your budget at HealthCare.gov starting today.
You may even qualify for financial assistance. Open Enrollment in the Marketplace runs through February 15, 2015. Your coverage can start as soon as January 1, 2015 if you sign up by December 15, 2014.
If you signed up for Marketplace insurance during last year’s Open Enrollment – we encourage you to:
- Come back and review your current coverage and application. For most users, about 90 percent of this year’s application will be prepopulated with information from last year.
- Make sure your information is up-to-date and anything you need to update is changed.
- Compare your current plan with other available plans. You may find new coverage that better fits your needs and budget.
- Choose the best plan for you.
- Enroll in coverage.
If you’re renewing your coverage, you can enroll any time between now and December 15. Visit HealthCare.gov today.
“I am quite happy that we are where we are this morning,” Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell said during a brief news conference at Evergreen Health Center in Manassas, Virginia, on Saturday. “We are up and running.”
Burwell also noted that since HealthCare.gov’s anonymous window-shopping tool went online last week, more than 1.2 million people had accessed it to obtain estimates of how much their insurance may cost.
